June 10, 2022 will mark Prince Philip’s 100th birthday and first birthday, so let’s revisit his marriage to Queen Elizabeth II.

Prince Philip passed away at the age of 99 on April 9, 2021, just two months faster than his one centesimal birthday.

The Queen celebrated her Platinum Jubilee over the weekend and 4 days later, Her Majesty celebrated her husband’s birthday.

Being the longest -serving royal empress in previous world history, she stood by the king’s side for 73 years after marrying in November 1947. So let’s take a look at the sweetest moments.

Queen Elizabeth called Prince Philip “powerful and guarded all these years”

The royal couple have been an image of love and devotion since their marriage at Westminster Abbey, with Philip accompanying the Queen in all her appearances.

Elizabeth celebrated the anniversary of her Golden Wedding ceremony in 1997 with a heartwarming speech, trying again in 50 years:

“He’s a man who not only compliments me, but he’s just been my strength and guardian all these years, and I, and his extended family, and this and many other countries, owe more than he does. I’ll announce, or we’ll find out. , ”he said knowing the Prime Minister and the participants were different.

He echoed the message at the Diamond Jubilee in 2012, describing him as “a constant force and information”.

Originally Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, he left the Greek and Danish royal titles and took the family name Mountbatten a month earlier than the engagement was launched in July 1947.
